Printmaking - Surrealism and Symbolism
More printmaking! I really loved my printmaking studio class! The top image was inspired by a trip to Las Vegas in 2008 and the second image was inspired by Valentine's Day 2008.

Stuffed Sculptures - Animals
My last class at JCPL, I can't believe it went by SO quick!! We are looking at Claes Oldenburg and soft sculptures. I made 2 as a demonstration/example. I made my fish first to try and figure it out, then I challenged myself with a different stitch technique and adding yarn for hair. I am really happy how they turned out!

Printmaking Peacock
These are my peacocks that I carved into the Woodcut Linoleum blocks. I taught a printmaking lesson at the library and this was my demonstration piece. I really enjoyed it and it didn't take very long to carve out your idea. Everyone in the class was done on time and made several editions of their piece.
Flower Close-ups
Just got my new Canon camera and I LOVE it!!! Still practicing with all the settings and features. These are some flower close-ups that I did outside the house. I had a nice conversation with friends last night about all the things that you can lose in life, but the one thing that no one can take away, your art! Keep rockin' it out!!

Ceramic Orchid
I love, Love, LOVE ceramics after this project! I made an orchid with the center portraying a female body. It is mounted onto the wooden vines which are all a wall-hanging piece. I wanted to portray the softness yet also the strength that parents (single moms) must have to care, nurture and protect their family.

Bradley's G.I.Joe Tank Birthday Cake
This is my first attempt at Edible Sculpture and it was a lot of fun! A lot of homework, but a LOT of fun! Bradley was SO surprised when he finally got to see it. We decorated the table with little toy tanks and little army men and then the cake, it was awesome!!

Ceramics I - Fossils
This was my first experience with ceramics and I loved it! I love sculpture, and the clay was a really fun medium to work with! Our first assignment was to use the sphere, slab and coil method for an introduction to the medium. I wanted to use a fossil theme for my assignment, so I made a fossil sphere jar, a slab vase and and block wall-hanging.

Plaster Sculpture
"Alligator"
This is a plaster sculpture that I made in 2000. I wanted to express the movement of an animal stretching and breaking free from the cluster which is itself.

Ready for the art to begin!
Getting pumped about teaching art lessons at the local public library! I have had a great time exploring new mediums myself and trying new projects! I can't wait to see what everyone creates! Hopefully I will have tons of pictures!
